34-year-old Tarlochan Singh was found guilty of dangerous driving by the Coventry Crown Court.

Witnesses told the Court that 50-year-old Nasreen Singh was thrown "like a rag doll" over the bonnet of Tarlochan Singh's Ferrari Spider, when he hit her and her son Shaffad Jabbar Khan, 30, outside a McDonald's restaurant in the Gallagher Retail Park, in Foleshill, Coventry on May 2 last year.

Tarlochan Singh was in the car with his younger nephew at the time and travelling at 30mph in a 5mph zone, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Judge John Maxwell adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports, but warned Singh that he would probably be jailed.

"You appreciate that dangerous driving carries a possible prison sentence of up to two years. This is not a trivial matter, this is a serious matter," the judge told Singh.
He also disqualified the Indian origin property developer from driving for a minimum of a year.

Tarlochan Singh of Gibbet Haill, Coventry told the court that his flip-flop had become trapped under the accelerator pedal and accused his victims of being "jealous" of the car.

He admitted hitting the woman but claimed his "victims were making their story up because they were jealous of his car.  This whole matter has been blown out of proportion."

He was bailed and ordered to return to court for sentencing on October 10.
