Vatican City: Pope Leo called on Friday for world governments to "respect the will" of the Venezuelan people after US forces seized President Nicolas Maduro and took him to the US last weekend.
"I renew my appeal to respect the will of the Venezuelan people, and to safeguard the human and civil rights of all, ensuring a future of stability and concord," Leo, the first US pope, said in an address to diplomats accredited to the Vatican.
