According to unofficial results, the opposition PML-N was in second position with nine seats and the Muslim Conference in third position with five seats. Independent candidates bagged two seats.

Though the official results are yet to be declared, it is expected the PPP will form the government in PoK with the backing of the Muslim Conference and the independents.
PPP candidate and former PoK "prime minister" Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry and senior PPP leader Chaudhry Abdul Majeed were among the winners.

Muslim Conference president Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan and senior PML-N Raja Farooq Haider too won from the seats they contested.

Polls were put off in four constituencies for various reasons, including law and order problems. The result of one constituency in Bagh district was withheld.

The polling, held across PoK and in cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore yesterday, were marred by violence that left at least three persons dead. PPP and PML-N supporters clashed at several places, including Lahore.
