American singer Mary Millben on Friday ripped into Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his 'frightened' remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that Indian Prime Minister is doing the best for his country, and he understands the long game and diplomacy.

Millben’s remarks came a day after Rahul Gandhi slammed the Centre and PM over US President Donald Trump’s claim on Modi's 'assurance' to him that India will stop buying oil from Russia. Launching a scathing attack on this, Rahul Gandhi on Thursday claimed that PM Modi is "frightened of (Donald) Trump".

“You are wrong, Rahul Gandhi. PM Narendra Modi is not afraid of President Trump," Millben said in a post on X.

“PM Modi understands the long game and his diplomacy with the U.S. is strategic. Just as Trump will always put America’s interests first, so will PM Modi do what is best for India. And I applaud that," she added.

Her post further read, “That’s what Heads of State do. They do and say what is best for their country. I don’t expect you to understand this type of leadership because you don’t possess the acumen to be PM of India. Best to return to your ‘I hate India’ tour that has an audience of one – you," (sic).

Mary Millben, who is also the cultural ambassador of the United States, have never shied away from heaping praises on PM Modi. She first met Modi in June 2023 when he was on a state visit to the US.
