Their accomplice managed to escape. The incident occurred around 12.30 a.m. when the trio were seen running away with the child.
“Passersby and locals of the area ran to the girl’s rescue and gave the Nigerian trio a chase. Two of them were caught and beaten up before being handed over to police. No case has been registered yet as we have sought the intervention of the Nigerian embassy,” said a senior police officer.
