Pitt supported her decision by calling it "heroic". The actress, whose mother died of cancer, opted for the operation after learning that she carried a faulty gene.<br /><br />Jolie told BBC television as she entered the cinema that she felt "great" and "wonderful" after the double mastectomy.<br /><br />"I'm very, very grateful for all the support. I've been very happy just to see the discussion about women's health expanded, and that means the world to me."<br /><br /><br />Apparently, Brad Pitt's mother saved actress-girlfriend Angelina Jolie's life by convincing her to take the test that led to her preventative double mastectomy.<br /><br />Jane Pitt, Brad Pitt's Mother, helped Jolie to decide on taking the test, which helped her to find out that she carried the cancer gene, that gave her an 87 percent chance of developing breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, reports femalefirst.co.uk.<br /><br />An insider said: "Basically, Brad's mom helped save Angie's life. When Angie told Jane that she was considering having genetic testing, Jane said to do whatever she thought was best for the children's sake."<br /><br />"That was all Angie had to hear. She made a decision right then and there to have it done!," the insider added.<br /><br />The premiere was also attended by Pitt's co-stars Mireille Enos and Peter Capaldi, director Marc Forster, executive producer David Ellison, son of Oracle founder Larry Ellison and CEO of Skydance, and celebrity guests Idris Elba, Tom Ford, Rita Ora and British band Lawson.</p>
