<p class="bodytext">Hortonworks, a provider of global data management solutions, is planning to open an app store on DataPlane Service (Hortonworks DPS) later this month.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Hortonworks Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Arun C Murthy said the app store will help startup to come up with new application. </p>.<p class="bodytext">"Hortonworks DPS has made simple to provision and operate distributed data systems no matter the use case, whether for data science, self-service analytics or data warehousing optimisation," he told <span class="italic">DH</span>.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Murthy said because DPS governance capabilities are built-in and based on open source technologies such as Hadoop and Apache Atlas, its users will enjoy easy access to trusted data available behind the firewall, public cloud or a combination.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Hortonworks DPS is a next-gen service to manage, govern and secure data and workloads across multiple sources (databases, EDWs, clusters, data lakes), types of data (at-rest, in-motion) and tiers (on-prem, multiple clouds, hybrid).</p>.<p class="bodytext">It allows enterprises to focus on getting more value from data quicker by providing an intuitive experience for managing all data. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Hortonworks has also established platforms Hortonworks DataFlow (HDF) and Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP).</p>.<p class="bodytext">Hortonworks, founded in 2011 and became the fastest-ever software venture to touch $100 million in revenue, has around 200 people in Bengaluru centre by the end of 2017.</p>.<p class="byline">DH News Service </p>
