Bombay Rayon refutes charges

Vinod Kumar of the firm categorically refuted the charges stating that all the 857 employees have been relocated and absorbed in Disha Designs, protecting their salary and seniority.

“None of the employees were forced to quit the organisation. Instead, they all voluntarily agreed to work with Disha Designs,” said Vinod Kumar. The decision to downsize unit 17 was taken after the termination of the clease ontract of the manufacturing unit with the landlord and the new commercial terms were not suitable to Bombay Rayon.

Vinod Kumar said, BRFL had proposed the employees to shift to their new unit at Doddaballapur but they were not ready to go there. Finally, the firm absorbed them all in another garment factory, Disha Designs. The Labour Commissioner has been informed about the relocation of the employees and their team leaders, he added.
