Divine signs were clearly manifest at birth including a visible namam on the forehead along with symbols of the chakra (wheel) and the shanka (conch) on either side of the chest. The child demonstrated a marked predilection for spiritual life from a very tender age.

On attaining sixteen years of age, he was sitting by the window in a school bus on his way to school when suddenly a ray of energy emerged from his body in the form of light. It projected into the sky and formed an image of the Goddess Narayani who was seen fully adorned in white. She was seen in all the splendor associated with Her including the shell on the left hand, the wheel on the right hand, a lotus on the third hand and the fourth hand held us as a gesture of blessing.

Although born as a male child, he is widely known as Sri Sakthi Amma. He is a living incarnation of the Goddess Narayani, a form of the Divine Mother that combines the Goddesses Saraswati, Lakshmi and Durga. This is a very special and rare manifestation of the Divine Mother. Her avatar was publicly proclaimed in May 1992 and since then she has been attracting thousands of devotees to Sripuram near Vellore which houses the magnificent Golden Temple that was inspired by Sri Sakthi Amma. The temple itself is a marvellous construction. More than five thousand kilos of gold were used to build it and it radiates a divine aura. The Sri Narayani Peetham was subsequently established to serve society, establish harmony and promote charitable activities.

Amma’s mission lies in promoting satyam (truth) and dharmam (righteousness) by instructing devotees on the importance of leading a spiritual life. Amma is of the view that we can secure lasting peace in our lives through sustained worship and prayer. As Amma says: “The only true treasure in this life is the Divine. Place your heart and trust in this treasure.”
