Established in 2009, IDL’s ‘Special Jam’ has become a leading event for visually-challenged people to celebrate their love for music. On Sunday, close to 100 visually-challenged persons gathered at IDL office, which has long been a refuge for differently-abled.

According to Rajeshwari M, a participant of the IDL band, the event gives her a platform to display her talent. "The band comprises extremely talented musicians as well as singers. Some of our band members have been part of popular movies like ‘My Autograph’," noted the 22-year-old band member.  Several members enjoyed a musical evening with the parents of 26/11 martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. IDL Foundation trustee P K Paul said that the organisation is planning to celebrate Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan's birthday along with his parents. Rev V Johnson of Bethel AG Church delivered a special message for the participants.
