The MLA said subsequently, the HUDA officials sent a letter of cancellation to the Vidyashrama and returned the money in December, 2010. The HUDA sold the same land a private person on this January 20 for R`1.57 lakh. The president, G K Shivaram and secretary, V C Ramakrishna of of the society got a sale deed done in favour of Nagarathanamma of Gavenahalli village. On January 21, the same had been registered in the name of Nagarathna.

The MLA alleged that sale of land reserved for public purpose is illegal. Besides, this deal has been finalised without discussing at the society’s general body meeting. Even this has not been brought to the notice of the deputy commissioner. A detailed probe is needed to nail the culprits, he added.
