South Western Railway General Manager Kuldeep Chaturvedi on Tuesday promised to reintroduce train services on Hassan-Shravanabelagola section within six months. There is no problem in starting train services but it will be started after inspection of track soon.

Speaking to news persons after opening newly built rest house at Railway Station here, he said daily trains would commence on this section within six months.

In fact, trains had been introduced during Mahamastakabhisheka but suspended subsequently due to various reasons. Till date the tracks were in good condition, he added.

On the Mangalore-Shravanabelagola-Bangalore railway line, the GM said there were some bottlenecks in the project. Nothing was in the hands of railways to address those issues.

There has been land acquisition problem near Kunigal. The work will start only after the State government acquire and handover the land to Railways.
