Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Bangalore, Yeddyurappa also accused Kumaraswamy of seeking a bribe of Rs 168 crore from the mining sector.

“He (Kumaraswamy) wanted my support to become the chief minister. Now he is making baseless allegations against me. I came out of the coalition government and got elected with people's support,” Yeddyurappa said.

Kumaraswamy on Saturday had alleged that two firms managed by Yeddyurappa’s sons had received Rs 13 crore as kickback from a company for allotting the work on the Rs 1,032-crore Upper Bhadra Lift Irrigation project to the company.

Yeddyurappa said Kumaraswamy, as chief minister, had sanctioned the Rs 550-crore contract at Rs 1,032 crore (inflating the value) and also gave approval for an advance payment of Rs 103 crore to the company, after chairing a meeting of the Karnataka Neeravari Nigama.
