Behar, an MBA graduate in Marketing and Finance from XLRI, Jamshedpur, is also the CEO of Azim Premji Foundation, the non-profit organisation that will run the State's first private varsity.

Recently, the varsity started receiving application forms for its M A (Education), M A (Development), and Masters in Teacher Education programmes that would begin in July, 2011.

The last date for receiving filled-in forms is May 15. The admission test that will examine a candidate's proficiency in English, analytical ability, general and social awareness and knowledge of relevant subjects, will be held at 38 centres across the country on May 29. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed in the third week of June.

The list of selected candidates will be out by the end of that month. The university, sponsored and established under the Azim Premji Private University Act of the State Government, has promised that every selected student will have the opportunity to stay at the campus, being built on the outskirts of the City and expected to be completed by 2012.

Besides, it will provide financial assistance, including scholarships and loans, to all ‘deserving’ candidates. Special financial support will be extended to working professionals who are admitted to the university.

Also, it offers to provide placement support for careers in government, private sector, NGOs and multi-lateral agencies.
