TTE rapes woman on moving train

Last Updated 30 April 2011, 18:18 IST

The victim, from Abu Road and the daughter of a retired railway employee, was travelling alone on a general coach in the Ajmer-Dadar train from Ajmer to Abu Road when the incident took place.

During her journey, she met an off-duty TTE Dinesh Dutt Mishra, who she already knew. He lured her to an AC coach on the pretext of getting her a comfortable seat.

On the AC coach, he allegedly raped her. She raised an alarm following which passengers of the coach caught the TTE and handed him over to the GRP at Abu Road junction, they said.
When the incident came to light, railways authorities found the TTE on-duty Amar Singh Rathore missing from the train.

“Both TTEs have been suspended. Dinesh Dutt Mishra for his alleged involvement in the rape case and Rathore for showing laxity in discharging duty,” he added.
