<p>The year-old baby elephant was found wandering in a mulberry farm at Maralawadi in the Kanakapura-Harohalli Forest range Wednesday morning.<br /><br />Tipped by village residents, Forest officers arrived on the spot, and with the help of the villagers managed to capture the calf and brought it to BBP.<br /><br />The calf, which was stressed, has been provided vet treatment and was now recovering, BBP doctor Chettiappa said.<br /><br />He said he was hopeful that the calf, given the elephants’capacity to bond with their own, would become friends with the domesticated elehants at the park.<br /><br />After observation, it would be decided whether to keep the calf at the park or to let it out into the wild, Dr R Raju said.<br /></p>
