BBMP schools shed 'inferior' tag

A press note said the pass percentage in 13 PU colleges and 33 high schools run by BBMP had recorded a substantial increase as compared to the previous year. The pass percentage for SSLC has increased from 35 last year to 57, whereas for PU the pass percentage increased from 52 to 56 this year.

1,185 cleared exams

Out of 2,092 students who appeared for the SSLC examination, 1,185 cleared it. Among the  students who passed, 236 secured first class, 289 got second class and 660 third class. As many as 10 students got more than 85 per cent. These toppers are from Srirampura, Magadi Road, Vidyaranyanagar, Gandhinagar and Bhyraveshwaranagar.

Similarly, 1,241 out of 2,216 students from BBMP-run colleges cleared the PU examination.

As many as 12 students got more than 85 per cent.

These toppers are from Padarayanapura, Dispensary Road, Magadi Road, Cleveland Town, Srirampura, Chamarajpet and Mathikere.
