Land encroached by ZP member cleared

Property valued at ` one crore; brick factory was being run

The land belonging to the government, located at survey no 181 in Srirampura was allegedly encroached by sitting ZP member Jawaraiah.

He was running a brick factory on the said land, abutting four acres of land owned by him.
Deputy Commissioner Harsha Gupta had issued an order, asking the party to vacate the land one month ago.

When the encroacher didn’t heed the notice, the deputy commissioner ordered to pull down the structures.

Complying with the orders, a team of officers led by Tahasildar Manjunath Swamy went to the spot.

The encroacher was dismantling the structure on his own.  Later, the job was made easy with the gangmen and JCB razing down the factory.

For the past one week, the district administration has intensified the drive against land encroachers.

Starting from Jayanagar, where two acres of land was taken into possession in a similar drive on May 15, a part of land illegally acquired by a gaming arena near the foot of Chamundi Hills was also cleared.

Earlier to this, several acres of lands have been taken into possession at Poornaiah Nala, Bogadi among several other places.
