Stuart Law set to join Bangladesh after England tour

Law, earlier the assistant coach of Sri Lanka, was promoted after his fellow Australian Trevor Blayliss stepped down after the 2011 Cricket World Cup. But after not getting clarity on his extension from the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Law has made up his mind to go to Bangladesh.

"I only need to put pen to paper. I have finalised it so the BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) can tell you. I asked the SLC if they would want me to continue after November but they couldn't confirm anything, so I told them that I won't continue after the UK tour. The most important thing for me is job security," Law was quoted as saying by Dhaka-based daily Prothom Alo.

"I just have to go back to Sri Lanka to sort out a few things and after I spend some time with my family, I will join the Bangladesh team. I am not sure if it will be two weeks or ten days before the tour to Zimbabwe."

Law, who replaces compatriot Jamie Siddons, will start his assignment with the Bangladesh team's tour to Zimbabwe.

The former Australia all-rounder had earlier showed interest in taking up the job with Bangladesh at the start of the England tour.

"At this stage it is a wonderful opportunity (to be with Bangladesh) to work with one of the best teams in the world so, yes, I am keen. I have got this (England) tour to show what I am capable of," Law had said.
