The suspects are Mohammad Babu, 22, from Samospur in Bangladesh, Rajesh, 33, from Sanjaynagar in Bangalore, Mahesh, 24, from Hassan, Ganesh, 24, from Channarayapattna and Umesh, 25, from Tannarahalli in Hassan.

The police seized an autorickshaw, a car, 10 cellphones, a laptop and Rs 25,000, all valued at Rs three lakh.

Mohammad Babu, the prime suspect, allegedly lured women in Bangladesh and West Bengal of getting decent jobs and brought them to Bangalore, without any legal documents. He kept them in illegal confinements in different areas in the city and forced them into flesh trade, police said.

A 20-year-old married woman from Bangladesh met the Upparpet police on Monday and disclosed about Mohammad Babu and illegal custody of women. She told the police that Babu took her to Bangalore some 20 days ago without passport. He had promised her that he would secure her good job in Bangalore. He kept her at a house in Vishveshwaraiah Layout in Ullal. She managed to escape and approached the police. She said many other women in the house were also forced into prostitution.

Based on her complaint, the police raided the house and rescued four women all from West Bengal.
