Her character in the film is a participant in a beauty pageant and even though the original script included a swimsuit round, the 26-year-old actress told director Sagar Bellary that she wouldn’t do the film if she had to wear a bikini.

“It is obvious that a beauty pageant will have a swimsuit round. But I said I won’t do the film if I had to wear a bikini. Sagar was kind enough to accommodate me, so we don’t have a swimsuit round now in the film,” said Minissha.

The reason why the actress refused to comply is because she doesn’t want a bikini-scene to become a “necessity” in every other film of hers.

“I have done it in ‘Kidnap’ and that’s exactly why I am not doing it now. Every film I take up can’t be about wearing a bikini, because then such a thing becomes a necessity in every script. I have done it once, doesn’t mean I am going to do it in every other film,” she said.

Hum Tum Shabana, releasing on September 23, is a romantic comedy also starring Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor. The film, Minissha says, is not the conventional love triangle that one normally expects. “The film is about wooing Shabana, wanting to be with her and then suddenly not wanting to be with her also.”
