Identification parade of Trichy gang soon

Sources told Deccan Herald a missive in this regard has been sent to the office of tahsildar on Wednesday. This follows the order of the court to conduct the parade in the presence of the complainant, as is the procedure. The investigators are waiting for the date of the officer, to arrange for the parade on the jail premises.

Maharashtra police who had taken the accused into their custody on August 20, which was further extended, brought them back on Wednesday. The Dhule police had taken them to their state, as the latter had confessed to have struck at a bank in that region too.

The gang hailing from Ramji Nagar in Trichy and having expertise in attention diversion at banks had made away with huge cash from the branch of Karnataka Bank on D Devaraj Urs road recently. The CCB police who were on the trail of the accused, eventually nabbed them in Shirdi, Maharashtra, busting the high profile case.

Apart from the local police, police from many other states are ready with body warrant to take the accused into custody for investigation, it is learnt.

Suicide at hotel
A woman working as a receptionist at a hotel in the city allegedly committed suicide by hanging at the work place on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Yashaswini (20) daughter of Mahesh, Borapura in Maddur taluk, Mandya district. She was working at a hotel on Theobald road in the city for the past two years. Yashaswini was found hanging at the cellar in the hotel in the afternoon.

In his statement to Nazarbad police, the victim’s father has alleged that his daughter was mentally upset, eventually forcing her to take the extreme step.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.

Static electricity; cops feared
Staff at Devaraja police station on Dhanwantri road in the city are a scared lot for the past two days. Mere operating of computer has become a risky affair with they experiencing shock due to static electricity. Of the total seven computers, one is fitted at the inspector’s chamber, while the remaining are fitted at other wings in the station. Following the shocking experience, the police personnel are working with anxiety writ large on their faces. However, it is not known whether the matter has come to the notice of higher ups.
