Lensmen seek government facilities

Last Updated 22 September 2011, 18:16 IST

The members of the Association have urged the Chief Minister to implement ‘Kshema Nidhi’ scheme and provide pension for the members of the Association. The letter reads, “there are as many as 2,600 photographers in the Association. The Association has been putting its whole effort to unite the photographers in the district. However, the photographers are forced to lead a difficult life as they get handful of work only for four-five months in a year. Therefore, the government should look into the matter and meet the demands of the Association.”

Some of the demands of the Association are making provisions to the Association members to avail loans with less interest from the nationalised banks, provide financial aid to build own buildings for taluk and district associations, confer Rajyotsava award to the best photographer among others.
