Sources said the investigating agency, which has registered at least 15 FIRs to probe CWG related graft, has put R K Sacheti, Joint Director General in the organising body and an aide of jailed OC chairman Kalmadi, under scanner for alleged financial and tender irregularities.

They said the case was referred to it by the Central Vigilance Commission recently.
Sources said the evidence shared with the CBI include alleged instances of criminal conspiracy by Sacheti with the help of some private persons.

They said that investigating agency will also look into the role of certain other OC officials for alleged irregularities in appointing Sacheti.

"Irregularities in appointment of Sacheti, Joint DG, without proper education or professional qualification to hold this kind of high responsibility was sent to the Chief Vigilance Officer of Ministry of Sports and after its examination the Commission decided to forward the matter to CBI," a CVC official, privy to the development, said.

Kalmadi, sacked OC Secretary General Lalit Bhanot among others were arrested by CBI and lodged in Tihar Jail for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices in implementing Games related works.

Besides CBI and CVC, other agencies like Income Tax department and Enforcement Directorate are also investigating alleged irregularities.

In a recent RTI reply, CVC said that it was looking for alleged irregularities in the execution of 71 Commonwealth Games-related projects worth several crores by government civic and construction agencies.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had appointed a Group of Minister (GoM) this year to look into Games related irregularities.
