Furnish compensation details: HC to KIADB

Last Updated 19 November 2011, 19:21 IST

B M Rangaswamy had moved the Court seeking action against former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu and KIADB officials for depriving him of the compensation for acquisition of his lands. According to the petitioner, his father Magadiappa had applied for enhancement of compensation.

However, after the death of Magadiappa, he (Rangaswamy) came to know that the compensation had been disbursed in favour of K Sowbhagya, wife of Katta Subramanya Naidu, on the production of a letter containing the thumb impression of Magadiappa, on March 5,2008.

The petitioner had alleged that the thumb impression of his father was forged, and KIADB officials told him that the compensation had been disbursed at the instance of Naidu, then a minister. The petitioner claims he was told that the Special Land Acquisition Officer of the Board was pressured by Naidu to issue the cheque in favour of his wife. The petitioner was promised that the matter would be settled amicably.

After waiting for some time, the petitioner moved the Civil Court seeking action against the erring officials. When the petition at Civil Court failed to make an impact, the petitioner moved the High Court seeking action against the errant officials as well as Naidu. Justice B Hinchigeri called for the records and adjourned the matter.
