Seven-year-old sexually assaulted

The incident was reported to police almost immediately after the victim, a class three student was assaulted at around 8 pm.

The victim informed her family about the incident who in turn rushed her to the Sultanpuri Police Station where a written complaint was lodged after a medical examination, said a senior police officer.

Police said after preliminary inquiries, the victim was taken to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where a routine medical examination was conducted and sexual assault was confirmed.

Police have registered a case of rape, ascertained the accused person’s description.
 “We are looking for him. Several teams have been formed to nab him and further investigations are underway,” the officer said .

Man killed in wall collapse

A 20-year-old man died and two were critically injured when the basement of an under-construction hotel in south east Delhi collapsed on Monday evening, police said.

The incident occurred at about 7 p.m. at plot number 11, located at near Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. The construction company had dug land for the basement.

“Three labourers who were present at the site were trapped beneath a wall that collapsed,” said a fire official.

A fire team rushed them to a nearby hospital where one of them – Mohammad Musibuddin, who hails from west Bengal -- was pronounced as brought dead. A case of causing death due to negligence has been registered at the IGI airport police station.

Three injured in firing

Three people were injured when five assailants opened fire on a mobile shop owner on Sunday night, police said.

Mohit a resident of Yamuna Vihar and Vinay, a neighbour were injured when five assailants shot four to five rounds. A passerby, Sompal was also shot in the indiscriminate firing.

The injured were rushed to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. Police said two of the assailants also got injured in the firing and are in custody. A case has been registered and a manhunt has been launched to nab others. Mohit’s father, Pramod is an advocate at the Karkardooma court and is the former president of the Shahdara Bar Association.

Man murdered

Two brothers were arrested for killing a security guard, who was obsessed with their sister, in Dwarka police said Monday. Vinod Kumar, 26, and Vivek, 23 were arrested from Tagore Garden Metro Station Sunday for killing their distant relative -- Suraj, 23, whose mutilated body was discovered in Dwarka Sector 20 on Friday, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (South West ) A. K. Ojha Suraj lived near the brother’s house and visited their place frequently, which resulted in his attraction for their sister. “A few days ago, Suraj barged into the house of the accused when their sister was alone. They had taken offence to this and had threatened to kill Suraj,” Ojha said.

Police said that the brothers broke down confessed that in order to set Suraj right for misbehaving with their sister, they conspired to kill him.

Vinod, married with three children, was working in a construction company in Moti Nagar, while Vivek was an A/C mechanic.

The 23-year-old Suraj was working as a security guard at a restaurant chain. Suraj’s dead body with multiple stab injuries was found on the road side opposite a liquor shop.
