Mahindra launches new Xylo with three engine variants

 Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M), on Thursday, unveiled the new model of its multi-purpose utility vehicle (MUV) ‘Xylo’.

The new Xylo, which comes with new looks and many changes, is a storehouse of technological breakthroughs and innovations.

Available in five new variants, ie. D2, D4, E4, E8 and E9, the Xylo also offers three distinct engine options. The D2 and D4 are powered by the 2,489cc mDI CRDe common rail diesel engine giving 220Nm torque @ 1,400-2,600 rpm. The E4 an E8 sport the 2,489cc mEagle common rail diesel engine offering 260Nm torque @ 1,800-2,200, while the high-end E9 comes with 2,179 cc mHawk engine producing 120 BHP of power and 280Nm of torque.

The interiors of the new Xylo offer a few firsts in the Indian automobile space, the company claimed. Mahindra has proudly introduced ‘Voice Command Technology’ on the E9 for vehicle commands, enabling customers to control over 30 feature actions on the vehicle by merely talking to it. Other features include the Blue Drive System, Cruise Control, 2 Din Audio System, Individual AC Vents, Steering-mounted Audio Controls and Intellipark Reverse Assist among others.

On the exterior, too, the new Xylo dawns a new avatar. A new front grille, sleek chrome accent, stylish headlamps, new front bumper are some of the changes that can be noticed.

“The stylish new Xylo further enhances value to customer by being more stylish, premium, tech-packed and comfortable,” M&M Vice-President - Sales (Automotive Division) Vijay Nakra said. The car is available in six colours and is priced between Rs 7.37 lakh and Rs 10.20 lakh (Ex-showroom Bangalore).
