Cong stages stir against ministers, 'rave party'

Udupi district unit of Congress Women’s Wing in association with Udupi Block Congress Committee and Udupi district Youth Congress staged a protest against the ministers who were caught watching porn in the Assembly and the alleged rave party held at St Mary’s island in the name of international music festival, here at service bus stop on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress leader Pramodh Madhwaraj expressed his shock for not taking any action over MLA Raghupathy Bhat, who was directly responsible for holding the rave party in St Mary’s island. He said that Bhat should immediately resign and he should be prosecuted under criminal offence.

 The profit earned through the rave party organised at the island crosses not less than Rs 50 lakhs and the district administration has promised only Rs 5 lakhs to develop tourism. Madhwaraj sought details of accounts for remaining money and also asked Bhat to give entire account details, he said.

People who were caught watching sexually explicit videos in the Assembly were punished as against the people who were involved in oraginisng rave party in St Mary’s are still freely wondering without fear, Madhwaraj said it is highly disgraceful on part of MLA for not owning any sort of responsibility on moral grounds.

 Laxman Savadi who spoke to media immediately after his resignation had informed that he just watched the porn pictures as against Bhat’s behavior who actually was involved in such illegal acts, he added. Congress district president Gopal Poojary demanded that the three ministers should be stripped off from their posts of MLA. Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat should tender his resignation and should be held responsible for the rave party organized at island.

DC Dr M T Reju is being misguided by MLA and he was forced to permit for such a vulgar music festival. Bhat should be punished and measures should be taken to avoid such incidents in future, he added.

Congress Women’s Wing District President Veronica Cornelio alleged that it is not unusual for BJP to involve in illegal affairs. Raghupathy Bhat should own the moral responsibility for the entire affair, she said.

Congress leader Sarasu Bangera said rave party is not our culture. Both the incidents are absolutely disgraceful to women not only in Karnataka but also in the entire country. Rave party should not have been organised in the sacred place of Lord Krishna, she said.

A huge poster containing the picture of Vidhana Soudha was cleansed as part of Vidhana Soudha swachatha abhiyaan. Poster carrying the pictures of CM Sadananda Gowda, Laxman Savadi, C C Patil, Krishna Palemar, Prabhakar Bhat and Raghupathy Bhat in swim suits was also paraded on the occasion. Placards carrying the slogans questioning CM over the credibility of his party and government were also displayed on the occasion.
