Annoyed over objections to drinking and going around with girlfriends, a 21-year-old youth killed his father in west Delhi, police said on Tuesday. The accused was arrested on Saturday.

Satish Lal, a resident of Rakahi Market Zakhira in Moti Nagar and working in a small dyeing unit, was arrested from near his home on Saturday, said additional commissioner of police (west) Renganathan.

“We received a call from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital on Thursday that an elderly man, Banwari Lal, was admitted with stab injuries and he was declared dead during the treatment,” said Renganathan.

Complainant Surajbhan, elder son of the deceased, told police that on Wednesday a quarrel took place between his father and Satish for drinking and other activities.

Satish went away at that time, but later returned at around 10 pm and stabbed his father.
Banwari Lal was rushed to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

After post-mortem, police handed the body to Surajbhan and nabbed Satish on Saturday.

Satish was an addict of alcohol and fond of girls. He called girls over to his house to which his father objected. They often quarrelled over the issue.  Satish was annoyed of this daily ‘interference’ by his father and planned to eliminate him.
