Communist Party of India Secretary P V Lokesh said that if the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government continues to be in power, then the country will face further economic crisis.

Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, Lokesh  said that the unholy nexus between the corporate companies, elected representatives and the bureaucracy has led to inflation in the country.

“All the successive coalition governments which came to power after 1980’s have only made promises of development and growth of the country. In reality, the growth has been nil,” Lokesh said and opined that the corruption scams have rocked the UPA government.

“The estent of corruption is so rampant that it has entered even into defense sector of the country,” he said adding that the internal conflict, nepotism and groupism within the BJP has failed the administrative mechanism in Karnataka.

“Owing to the internal problems, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda could not expand the cabinet,” he said.

Lokesh added “the state government has failed to answer to the letter written by the CEC asking for CBI probe against illegal mining in the State since 2000. We want impartial probe against the illegal mining in the State so that the guilty could be booked.”

No appointment

“Following the retirement of Justice Santosh Hegde, the State government has failed to appoint a new Lokayukta and Upa Lokayukta. It is delaying the process unnecessarily and the corruption is on rise in the State,” he said adding that the government has been neglecting the honest officials and supporting the corrupt officials to save its skin.

The voters should teach a lesson to the ruling BJP in the Council election. Further, he said that it is high time, the government is dissolved and elections are held.
