Rural postal employees demand benefits of 6th Pay Commission

Staging a protest in front of the General Post Office in the City,  from 10 am to 4 pm, under the aegis of All India Rural Postal Employees Association and National Rural Postal Employees Association, the postal employees shouted slogans against the Union government.

They urged the Government to hike their salaries in accordance to the recommendations made by the 6th Pay Commission and criticised the delay in implementing the same by the Union Government.

The protesters said, thousands of rural postal employees who were serving in the Postal Department, should be treated on par, with the other employees of the Postal Department and should be given equal salaries and other benefits.

 The Union government should seriously think on these lines and try to take measures to reduce the evident discrimination prevailing among all the employees. It should ensure that all the employees get equal wages, the protesters urged.

C N Veerabhadrappa, K H Krishnegowda Hutturu, Meena Kumari, Nataraj Muduvatti, Kalyani and several others took part in the protest.
