<p>Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda inaugurated a photo exhibition depicting the 60-year history of the State Assembly at the Banquet Hall of the Vidhana Soudha on Sunday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The exhibition, organised on the sidelines of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Assembly, showcases the political history of the State. <br /><br />As many as 70 photographs, some of them rare ones, are on display. Some of the rare photographs include a group picture of members of the 1952 Assembly (then it was called Mysore Legislative Assembly), Dr S Radhakrishnan inspecting the construction work of the Vidhana Soudha in 1954, B D Jatti presenting the budget and Ramakrishna Hegde walking in the corridors of the Vidhana Soudha.<br /><br />The photographs of all the chief ministers and the all governors of the State are also on display.<br /><br />Later speaking to reporters, Gowda said though the 60th anniversary was a historic occasion for the State, it was decided to organise it in a simple manner due to the prevailing drought. <br /><br />However, the event is being held with all seriousness to maintain the dignity of the Assembly.<br /></p>
