<p>As on every second Sunday of July, owners of more than 170 Yezdi motorcycles revved the engines and put their vehicles into gear as they participated in the 10th International CZ Jawa Yezdi Day organised by CZ Jawa Yezdi Owners Club here on Sunday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Owners of motorbikes — including the legendary 250 Classic, Colt 60cc, 250 CL II, Deluxe, 350cc Yezdi and 175 cc Yezdi — took out a rally, passing through major roads of the city.<br /><br />The venue for launch of the rally was shifted to Doddakere grounds from Lalith Mahal Hotel helipad, where the inauguration was held the previous years.<br /><br />The motorists passed through Ballal Circle, 100 Feet road, Ramaswamy Circle, Vijaya Bank Circle, Hunsur road, Gokulam Main road, Dhanvanthri road, Bamboo Bazaar and culminated at Bal Bhavan in Bannimantap. <br /><br />A few riders extended the ride to Hotel Mayura River View.<br /><br />The number of riders participating in the event has increased steadily over the years.<br /><br />While the first year of the rally had witnessed only 20 participants, subsequent years witnessed an increase in the number or riders joining the annual event. <br /><br />This was the 51st year since Yezdi motorbikes were introduced in the country.<br /><br />DCP Basavaraj Malagathi flagged off the rally. Raian Irani and others were present on the occasion.<br /><br />About Jawa<br /><br />The motorbikes from Ideal Jawa (India) Limited was released by the then Governor of Mysore State, Jayachamaraja Wadiyar in 1961. Yezdi with its slogan ‘The Forever Bike, Forever Value’ is a sensation among motorcycle lovers even after five decades of its launch.<br /><br />The motorbikes manufactured by Yezdi included Yezdi Deluxe, Yezdi Roadking, Yezdi CL II, Yezdi Classic, Yezdi 175, Yezdi Monarch and the Yezdi Colt. <br /><br />The most successful among them was the ‘Yezdi Roadking’. With the slogan reading ‘Simply Irresistible’, the bike was something that people couldn’t take their eyes off.</p>
