An NRI’s wife was declared brought dead in a hospital after she was taken there in a serious condition on Friday.

Her father claimed that she fell unconscious in front of him and froth was coming out of her mouth at Rajouri Garden in west Delhi.

Police came to know when victim Sabina Singh, 35, was declared brought dead at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital on the wee hours of Friday.
“We received a call that a woman was brought to the hospital in mysterious circumstances and was declared brought dead around 1:40 am,” said a police officer.
Police reached the spot and found that the victim was accompanied by her father Sarfaraz Ali,  a property dealer.

Ali told police that his daughter came to him and fell down. She became unconscious and froth was coming out of her mouth.

Ali and his family members then took her to a private hospital which declined to admit her.
They then rushed to DDU Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Sabina’s body has been preserved at DDU Hospital’s mortuary for a post-mortem to be conducted after her husband Balvinder Singh, who lives in London, will land in the city.
During preliminary investigation, police found that there was smell of alcohol from the mouth of the victim.

Police suspicion

“She might have consumed poison or was heavily drunk. But the exact cause of her death can be only known after the post-mortem. It might be also a case of natural death,” said the officer.

Sabina, mother of two daughters, married Balvinder six years ago and was living in Rajouri Garden. Balvinder returns to India after every two to three months.
