Advani too good for Kemka

Newly-crowned National billiards champion Advani was on a roll, potting the ball all round the table skillfully to outplay Khemka 76-8, 63-52, 68-28 in an hour-long battle.
Eight times world champion, Geet Sethi, however, had to bring in all his experience to defeat veteran cueist Ahsan-ul-Haque from Orissa.

In a five-set decider, Sethi came back from behind to beat Ahsan-ul-Haque 44-73, 42-61, 76-13, 57-14, 71-20 in a two-hour long battle.

Former Asian snooker champion Alok Kumar of Punjab also ended up on the winning side, beating young Sumit Talwar of Chandigarh 60-46, 64-43, 79-43.

In another match, Shivam Arora of Bihar stunned Rafath Habib of the Railways 49-84, 69-64, 64-4, 56-63, 78-35.

Chennai boy Girish won his last league encounter to top the group, defeating citymate Dilip Kumar 107-42, 61-20, 74-58. Girish had earlier beaten Habib 55-49, 20-65, 74-65, 5-61, 62-28.

Uttar Pradesh’s Kan Kan Shamsi also secured a creditable victory over Assam’s Himanshu Sharma 20-60, 58-16, 80-9, 40-34.
