Debate on armed forces code of ethics

The NLSIU has organised a one-day debate  on the ‘Enforcement of Strict Code of Ethics for Armed Forces during Counter Insurgency Operations in India,’ at its Bangalore campus on January 4.

A G Noorani, constitutional expert and senior advocate in the Supreme Court; Shashikumar Velath, director (Programmes) of Amnesty International; and Syed Faisal Qadri, national director of Jammu and Kashmir-based Human Rights Law Network, will speak in favour of the motion.

Satish Nambiar, retired lieutenant general; Major General K S Venugopal, General Commanding Officer for Karnataka and Kerala sub-area; Retd Major General Nilendra Kumar, author and expert on security jurisprudence, will speak against the motion.
