'Mahavatar Narsimha' dominates box office with Rs 23 crore on second Sunday, beats new releases

While Saiyaara continues to mint good collections at the box office after weeks of its release, there is another film that is making similar noise and continues to perform well in its second week of release. The animated movie Mahavatar Narsimha, presented by Hombale Films, is having a dream run at the box office, giving tough fight to new releases.

The movie is not only heaping praises for its phenomenal storytelling and narrative but also breaking records with its splendid box-office run. The movie continues to attract audiences to the theatres due to its positive word of mouth and registered substantial figures on the weekend, especially on Sunday.

Even with fresh competition at the box office, the movie held firm and recorded a phenomenal Rs 16.27 crore (Hindi net) on its second Sunday.
The movie is witnessing a kind of success that's setting new benchmarks at the box office, a historic run for an animated film made in India.

The film's total in Hindi net India stands at Rs 65.64 Cr., and this weekend the movie managed to equal its previous week, which is a rare feat. Experts suggest that the movie will most definitely cross the Rs 100 Cr mark in its third week in Hindi. Globally, the film has collected Rs 112 crore in box-office collections, as per Sacnilk.

The film, produced by Hombale Films and Kleem Productions, is the first chapter in the grand Mahavatar Universe. Spanning over a decade, the franchise will bring in the 10 divine avatars of Lord Vishnu, starting with Mahavatar Narsimha (2025), followed by Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh (2031), Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033), Mahavatar Kalki Part 1 (2035) and concluding with Mahavatar Kalki Part 2 (2037).

Mahavatar Narsimha is directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai and Chaitanya Desai under the banner of Kleem Productions, presented by Hombale Films. Mahavatar Narsimha was released in 3D and in five Indian languages on 25th July 2025.
