The properties of former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu and his kin have been provisionally attached. This was confirmed by the Adjudicating Authority established under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in New Delhi on February 21.

Properties numbering about 36 movable and immoveable assets have been attached by the Enforcement Directorate. Sources told this paper that the properties attached include a bungalow where the former minister and his family members reside at Sadashivanagar.

It is in the name of Naidu and his wife Sowbhagya. The second property is in the name of his daughters K S Indraja and K S Jalaja, while a third bungalow at Kumara Park is in the name of Katta’s first daughter.

Properties in the name of G Jagadish Chandra Prakash, second son-in-law of Naidu, and Chandra’s brother, G Bhanu Prakash, have also been confiscated. Bhanu Prakash has a property on 25 acres of land in Madhya Pradesh and a flat at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. The brothers are sons of Andhra Pradesh MLA Muddukrishna.

Medical equipment bought by Dr V Suri Raju (Katta’s first son-in-law), worth Rs 50 lakh, has been attached along with a bungalow on West of Chord Road. A house in Kumara Park, in the name of his wife Indraja, has also been confiscated.

The properties of Sampangiramanagar Corporator M Gopi and his wife Sowbhagya have also been attached. The properties of S V Srinivas, Managing Director of Itasca Software and his father S K V Chalapathi have also been confiscated.

Srinivas’ property at Malleswaram, the property in the name of his mother Saraswathi at Embassy Habitat in Vasanthanagar and some of the sites bought by Srinivas in the name of his wife Rashmi and his mother, with ‘tainted money,’ have been attached by the Adjudicating Authority.

The properties of Katta’s associates from Cubbonpet, G Subramanyappa, S Harish, R Mohankumar, Rangaswamy and Keshavamurthy figure in the list. These properties were bought with ‘ill-gotten money’ given by Katta Jagadish, son of Katta Subramanya Naidu. Axis Bank accounts of Jagadish Chandra Prakash with Rs 2.4 crore and the account of Rangaswami with Rs 22 lakh have been frozen.

The licence of Rathna Cements, owned by S N Singit, has been seized, while 11 acres of land of Orlando property on the outskirts of Bangalore, where R Mohankumar and Rangaswami invested, have also been attached.

A car belonging to Jagadish Chandra Prakash; an Innova and a tipper lorry to transport garbage in the City, owned by Corporator Gopi, and a Swift car owned by Harish find a place in the list of movable properties attached by the Adjudicating Authority.
