The festival of colours is back with celebrations galore. Krishna Prerna Charitable Trust, in association with UNESCO and Delhi Tourism, hosted the 7th edition of ‘Raasrang Holi Utsav’ at Dilli Haat from March 22-24.

Arun Budhiraja, founder of Krishna Prerna Charitable Trust, said: “Through Raasrang Holi Utsav, we bring alive the spirit of Holi.”

The highlight of Raasrang this year was the participation of artistes from Bangladesh. The first day of the festival began with Bhojpuri Jhoomar from Bihar, followed by
Nabanno from Bangladesh, where artistes welcomed Spring with folk music and folk dance. Nazrul, contemporary music from Bangladesh, was the highlight of the second day of the event.

The three-day festival concluded with a mesmerising performance by Rishi. Inc, a Delhi-based band that describes its music as “classical contemporary”.

The idea behind Raasrang, said the organisers, was to revive the country’s cultural heritage and showcase it for the youth.

Earlier editions of the festival had performances by prestigious ensembles highlighting Braj Ki Holi, Marwar ki Holi, Uttarakhand Ki Khadhi and Bhaithi Holi, Vrindavan ki Phoolan Ki Holi, Banaras Ki Holi, Manipur Ki Yaoshang Holi among others. The event also celebrates tribal and folk participation.
