The achievements of Bharatiya Janatha Party were feted and scams of the UPA government were flayed at the 'Vijay Sankalp Convention' oraganised by BJP at Nehru Maidan on Friday.

The Congress government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is a remote control government. The prime minister who is known to maintain silence should be renamed as 'Maun Mohan Singh,' mocked Karnataka State BJP Chief Pralhad Joshi.

The BJP government in Karnataka is led under the strong leadership of five 'Pandavas', such as Jagadish Shettar, Ashok, Eshwarappa, Ananth Kumar and D V Sadananda Gowda. However, the party workers are the 'Saarathis' (the one who maneuvers the chariot), he said.

We need to campaign unitedly for the upcoming elections. We have to visit every house and ask for votes. In case people have misunderstandings about BJP, we need to clear them, ask forgiveness in case if their feelings are hurt, he advised party workers.

"People may have been upset due to the conflicts faced by BJP in the recent days.

This may be the main reason for BJP to lose in the MCC elections. However, let us not be disheartened. Let us win back people's hearts and assure them more development, if we come back in power," he said.

Joshi mocked UPA government and said that it swallowed India's resources for its own benefit. The government has swallowed more than Rs six lakh crores and still it says that it does not have Rs 5 lakh crore funds to implement development projects, he said.

Former Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that the BJP may see many challenges but should face the election without fear. The upcoming election will be a direct battle between BJP's development and Congress propaganda, he said.

In his speech, Gowda referred to a thief the party housed. "The thief looted the party and escaped. However, people have taught him a good lesson," he said, This remark made it clear that it was an intended pun, even though Gowda did not mention the person’s name.

Gowda also said that the parties which were born recently are no match for BJP. BJP's competitors are the Congress, he said.

Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok said that JD(S) is known to be a father-son party and Congress is known to be ruled by the Gandhi family heirs. However, BJP selects its candidates who work earnestly for the party, he said.UPA government's negligent attitude has made foreigners take India for granted. Terrorists enter the country as they wish and destroy the nation. However, the UPA government safeguards the terrorists in prisons and spends crores of rupees on their security, he regretted.

"We need a strong Prime Minister like Narendara Modi, to lead our country," he said.
RSS Leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat among others were present.
