Indian women clinch basketball silver; swimmers win bronze

In basketball, women cagers came out with an impressive show to claim silver medal in the 3-on-3 event.

In all, the Indian eves won three matches and lost one to finish second. Meanwhile, India were assured of a medal in men’s kabaddi after they beat Bangladesh 59-18 in the semifinal. India will lock horns with Iran in the final tomorrow.
The Indian quartet of Virdhawal Khade, Rehan Poncha, Arjun Jaitely and Aaron D’Souza won the bronze in the 4x100m freestyle event by clocking 3:18:59 seconds.
Meanwhile, in kick-boxing, Ratnadeep has entered into the final of women 50-kg semi-contact category, outclassing Thailand's Pongthalan 12-10 For India, Aamir Khan won the bronze medal in the boy’s section, as did Manoj Kumar (below 51kg low-kick), Limba Meitei (below 67kg), Pankaj Mahato (below 63kg).
In chess too, India won the bronze medal in both individual and team events. K Sasikiran won the bronze in the mens’ single rapid chess, while Deepan Chakraborty and Jeyakum won it in team mixed blitz chess event. India so far has won three gold, six silver and 18 bronze medals.

Snooker
India cueist Manan Chandra’s medal hopes in the third Asian Indoor Games went up in smoke after he lost his third place play-off match against UAE’s Mohamed Al-Hashmi in the 15-Red Snooker discipline.
Chandra failed to display the aggression and spunk he had shown in his last outings and lost 2-4 (54-18, 46-31, 58-59, 25-68, 15-70, 41-60) to Mohamed Mustafa Mohamed Al-Hashmi.
After leading till halfway, Chandra lost his semifinal match to Afghanistan’s Nadeer Khan Sultani 3-4 (75-17, 64-73, 16-68, 44-42, 52-42, 22-62, 36-54).
