PM, Congress top brass to discuss T-state today

The top Congress leadership is expected on Friday to deliberate the issue of a separate Telangana with a particular focus on the status of Hyderabad, where people from all parts of Andhra Pradesh have stakes.

The deliberations of the Congress core group led by party president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are expected to be final ahead of a meeting of the Congress Working Committee which is likely to be convened soon.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, his deputy Damodar Rajanarasimha and PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana have been asked by the Congress leadership to be available in the capital on Friday for consultations if required.
The state leaders are expected to meet Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde. A key point to be discussed is safeguarding the interests of non-Telangana people in Hyderabad.
