JOIN USA family of three were killed here when the roof of their rented house collapsed in the wee hours of Sunday.
The victims have been identified as Mahantesh Ningappa Kendur, 28, his wife Mala Kendur, 23, and their one-year-old daughter Bhavana.
Mahantesh resided with his family and parents near the Veera Narayana temple and was into arecanut business.
The roof of the room where Mahantesh, Mala and Bhavana were sleeping collapsed at 5.45 am. Mahantesh’s parents who were sleeping in the adjacent room, were woken up by a loud noise. When they rushed out of their room, they found the three buried in the heap of mud.
When the Fire and Emergency Services personnel took them out, Mala and Bhavana were found dead. However, Mahantesh was still alive, according to eye-witnesses. He died on the way to hospital.
