Kiss dry lips a goodbye!

You don’t need to roam around trying to get the right lip balm and gloss for healthy, shiny and lovely lips. Tisha Kapur Khurana shows you how to whip up natural lip balms and gloss at home.

They help you eat, speak, whistle and kiss, but how well do you know your lips? Just like the eyes, our lips too enhance the attractiveness of our face. Due to pollution and rampant use of harsh cosmetics, lips tend to turn dark and lose their natural beauty over time.

Here are some do-it-yourself lip balms and gloss:

Mint & cocoa butter lip balm

Ingredients:

*  1 tbsp of cocoa butter
*  1 tbsp of mint pure
*  1 tbsp of almond oil
*  ¼ tbsp of vitamin E oil
*  1 tbsp chocolate pieces

Method: Take the all ingredients in a bowl. Add 3 tbsp of water to it. Put the bowl in oven. In this process mix them with the help of spoon. Let melt it down all the ingredients for 5-7 minutes. Take it out from the oven and place it in refrigerator for 1 hour and apply this balm on the lips of pink rose lips.

Sugar lip scrub

Scrub your lips gently to exfoliate them and to get rid of dead cells. This reveals natural colour of your lips and also makes them soft and supple. The sugar scrub is a natural exfoliate and is suitable for tender lips.

Ingredients:

*  2 tsp brown sugar
*  Few drops of olive oil
*  1/2 tsp honey

Method: Mix all the ingredients. Let this mixture rest for 5 minutes, so that the sugar becomes softer and thus making it easier to apply. Then apply all over the lips and scrub gently. Wash off with lukewarm water.

Lemon coconut oil lip balm

Ingredients:

*  ½   tbsp lemon oil
*  1 tbsp coconut oil
*  2 tbsp sunflower oil
*  2 tbsp of beeswax

Method: Take the beeswax in small form of small pieces and mix all the ingredients except essential oil with the beeswax. Heat it on the oven for 10 minutes now add the lemon oil to the melted beeswax then kept in the refrigerator and apply when it is cool.

Rose petal balm

Rose petals have skin lightening properties and also make your lips hydrated. It helps to keep them pink and smooth, by retaining the natural colour.

Ingredients:

* A few rose petals
*  A little raw milk

Method: Soak the rose petals in raw milk for a few hours. Mash them into a smooth paste and apply on the lips. Keep for 15-20 minutes and wash off with cool water.

Beeswax and mango butter lip gloss

Ingredients:

*  1 tbsp beeswax
*  2 tbsp mango butter
*  1 tbsp olive oil
*  10 drops of lavender oil

Method: Take some water in a pan and boil it for 10 minutes. Then add all the ingredients to it and mix well. Wait for all the components to melt down. Then add the essential lavender oil to the melted ingredients. Cool it and apply to the lips.
