Party-hopper Rakshita now jumps on BJP bandwagon

:Film actor Rakshita joined the BJP on Thursday with a pledge that she would not party-hop and would stay put in one party.

Rakshita is stepping into the BJP after brief stints with BSR Congress and JD(S). She joined the BJP in the presence of senior leaders H N Ananth Kumar and R Ashoka.

“People have begun asking me how long will I remain with the BJP... I know I have made some mistakes... but this time I will stay put, campaign for the BJP and serve the people,” she said adding that she had joined the BJP to see Narendra Modi as the prime minister.

During the Assembly polls in 2013, Rakshita had quit the BSR Congress and had joined the JD(S). Then, Rakshita had wanted to contest from Rajarajeshwarinagar constituency but the party asked her to contest from Chamarajanagar.

Now, denied a ticket by the JD(S) to contest from Mandya, she quit the party to join the BJP. Rakshita’s husband, film director and producer Prem, who accompanied her, said he was not joining the BJP but would provide full support to his wife. He is from Mandya.
