Police nab burglar, recover jewellery

Banashankari police have arrested a burglar and recovered a car and Rs 35 lakh worth of gold and diamond jewellery. On March 30, the night patrolling police saw a man gaining entry into the house from the back door at around 4 am in Padmanabhanagar. The police detained the person on suspicion. 

The arrested has been identified as Narasimha Reddy, 23, a resident of Hosakerahalli. Police have recovered the tools used for breaking open the locks, a car and Rs 35 lakh worth gold and diamond ornaments from the arrested, which was allegedly looted from B V Kumar's house in Padmanabhanagar on March 29.

The police said, during interrogation, he revealed that he used to conduct a recce in his car in various residential areas in the city by posing as a rich man and identify locked houses. He returned later at night, parked his car in front of the house and broke in from the rear door. 

“Investigations revealed that Reddy was a habitual burglar and was recently arrested by Girinagar police for a burglary and he had come out on bail," said a police officer.
