Manoj Tirki, 25, a native of Jharkhand, was allegedly hacked to death by his relative in Yeshwantpur on Tuesday night.

According to the police, a group of eight men from a village in Ranchi, Jharkhand, came to Bangalore after bagging a painting contract.

Manoj and his cousin Sharada Wora, 35, travelled to the City along with the six others, and rented a room behind RNS Yatri Nivas.

Manoj and Wora had a dispute regarding a piece of land back in their native village. Wora was planning to murder Manoj to solve the property dispute.

He wanted to be a part of the group that came to Bangalore as he thought he could easily execute the murder, the police said. Wora woke up while others were fast asleep and hit Manoj repeatedly on his head with a wooden plank.

A grievously injured Manoj was rushed to Nimhans where he died at 8.30 am on Wednesday, the police said. Wora has been arrested.
