CET: Helpline centre opens at Sahyadri

The helpline centre to facilitate the documents verification of eligible students in Common Entrance Test -2014, has been opened at Sahyadri Engineering College in Adyar.

Sahyadri College is one of the 12 centres set up by the Karnataka Examination Authority in the State and it will facilitate the students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikmagalur and Kodagu districts.

Addressing mediapersons on Saturday, Mangalore help centre Nodal Officer Jagjeevandas Bhandari said that documents verification process will be held from June 2 to 17, from 9 am to 6 pm everyday.

As many as 10 verification counters have been set up in the verification centre and 5,500 students are expected to approach the centre for the verification process.

The centre comprises of a nodal officer, assistant nodal officer, a network engineer, a soft engineer, 10 document verification officers and 12 computer operators.

Documents that students will have to bring for the verification includes CET admission ticket, SSLC nad PUC marks card, study certificate duly signed by the block education officer and two passport size photographs.

Along with the original documents, students should also bring one set of attested photocopies of the same.

The students who are claiming seats under various quotas, should produce following certificates (whichever is applicable) - caste certificate, income certificate, rural study certificate and kannada medium certificate.

The government has fixed the annual income ceiling for reservation benefit at Rs 4.5 lakh this year.

Upon completing the verification process, the candidates will be assigned a verification slip and an acknowledgement card, to be preserved carefully till the Counselling process is completed, the Nodal Officer said.

The candidates will also be provided information about choice filling, fee payment and seat allotment in the centre.
