'Home Guard service invaluable'

Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of All India Home Guards Day in Kolar on Saturday, Kodirangappa said that Home Guards Department was a front-runner among organisations which had dedicated themselves to serve the nation after World War II.

The people who join Home Guards should develop leadership qualities, patriotism, sacrifice and honesty and should be a role model for others in society, Kodirangappa said. They should work towards motivating others, he added.

Home Guards’s district Commandant R Venkatesh who spoke on the occasion said that good training had been given to members of the Home Guards unit established in the new district of Chikkaballapur. He said that arrangements had been made where home guards would continue to serve the district (Chikkaballapur).

Poornapragna Vidyasamste Secretary N Venkatesh said that Home Guards which is know for selfless service in district had won accolades from the people. Gauribidnur Unit officer H N Shivaraju and others were present.
