The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) announced the first round of seat allotment, on Tuesday.

Earlier, on June 21, the KEA had announced the mock allotment. Students were given an opportunity to re-enter their options for seats. The seat allotment has been posted on the KEA website kea.kar.nic.in. Candidates can view the college and course wise details along with the cut off ranks. Non-allotted seats will also be displayed.

The KEA had announced 22,622 medical and dental ranks, 72,926 ISM&H ranks, 1,01,010 engineering ranks and 1,453 architecture ranks. The number of government seats that were available in the first round of counselling are: 1,803 medical seats, 782 dental seats, 61,321 engineering seats, 692 architecture, 2,616 agriculture and 1,259 BPharma and DPharma seats. ISM&H seats are yet to be added to the seat matrix.

What next?

Candidates have to report to the college before June 30, 2014. If the candidate wants to select the seat, he/she has to click choice-I on the KEA portal. If the candidate wants to participate in the second round by holding the seat allotted in the first round, then he/she has to exercise choice 2. In this case, the candidate will be retaining the seat in the first round and if a seat in the higher order of his priority is available in the second round, his/her first round seat will automatically be sent back to the seat pool.

If the candidate wishes to participate in the second round without holding the first round seat, then he/she can exercise choice 3. If the candidate is not happy with the seat and does not want to participate in the next round, then he/she has to exercise choice 4 on the KEA portal.
